We ALSO tested vertical shrinkage of a thrown cylinder (6 sections, each with their own test)\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv class=\"Description_Description\"\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv class=\"Description_Description\"\u003e\n\u003cdiv class=\"Description_Description\"\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003ebeginning weights in grams were recorded\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003ethe lines and weights were measured \u0026amp; recorded when bone dry\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eThe samples were fired to Cone 04\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003elines and weights were measured \u0026amp; recorded again\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eThe flat tiles were then soaked in hot water for 1 1\/2 hours, then weighed again\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eMath magic was then done to calculate the average shrinkage wet-dry and average shrinkage overall for both flat and thrown tests, and the average water absorption was calculated based on the flat bars.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eWe also figured the \"LOI\" (Loss on Ignition) by computing the fired weight against the bone dry weight.
