Tax Exempt Status
If you have landed here, it's likely that you are looking to purchase your pottery-making supplies without tax. (please note, we have a new system as of 2025, so if you have not sent in your documentation this year, we will need it again, even if you have sent it in the past. Please verify your tax status is showing correctly at checkout before submitting your order as we can not remove tax once your order has been submitted.)
For all schools (in Kansas or any other state), we will need a signed copy of your letter from the state including your tax exemption status and number before we can set up your school or district with tax-exempt status. Email that to us here
For Kansas potters with a resale exemption, you will need to fill out and send us the ST28A form, which you can fill out online here
For out-of-state resale customers, please use the ST28M form, which you can fill out online here. Kansas law does not require us to collect tax if we are SHIPPING across state lines, so if you are not picking your order up here in our store, we are not REQUIRED to have this documentation, but it's better to provide it anyway so we can have it on file.
For Kansas non-profit organiations, please provide a signed copy of your letter from the state including your tax exemption status and number.
For out of State non-profit organizations, you will need to apply with the state of Kansas to be exempted from our state tax. It is easy to do online here
You’ll need to email the appropriate form to us at taxexempt@brackers.com. We’ll then create a tax-exempt account for you online and send you a confirmation email letting you know you can purchase on behalf or your business or school.
PLEASE NOTE: if you place your order BEFORE submitting your tax exempt paperwork, your first order MAY include sales tax. Although we do make every reasonable attempt to catch potential tax exempt orders and contact you prior to finalizing your order, we can not remove tax to orders after they have been fully processed.
