Glazes in this category are designed to fire from cone 4-6, however some have differening ranges. You can use the "firing range" filter as well as filters for Brand, Color, Surface, Visual Effect or manufacturer's glaze series to narrow down your choices
Many glazes in bulk sizes (gallons and dry) will be shipped from the manufacturer.
Cone 6 oxidation: Black Walnut is a dark brown soft matte glaze that breaks a rich warm brown.
Cone 10 reduction: Rich brown undertones come through.
TIP: The thinner the application, the lighter brown the color. The thicker the application, the darker the brown color. For a saturated opaque finish, apply 4+ coats. Has a satin finish.

An exciting, exotic glaze that sometimes changes from blue to green depending on where it is placed in the kiln. Ideal for adding detail to sculptures, or as an unusual finish for non-functional ware.
The crawl glazes need several coats brushing. Apply glaze until it just starts to crack on the piece when dry, like a dried-up lakebed, but not so thick that it flakes off of the piece. Where the glaze is thicker, the crawl size is larger. Where thinner, the crawl size is smaller. Not recommended for food use. A textured, dry matt surface.
Cone 06 oxidation (first image): Blue Dawn is a heavily pigmented, viscous Stroke & Coat®glaze that can be used for brush strokes or opaque coverage. One coat will create a translucent finish with subsequent coats adding opacity. We suggest two to three coats for full opacity and all over coverage. Will fire to a gloss finish without clear glaze.
Cone 6 oxidation (second image): Transparent. Color lightens to SC-65 Peri-Twinkle.
Cone 10 Reduction (third image)
Cone 6: Blue Gloss is a highly-pigmented royal blue gloss glaze. The stable qualities of this glaze make it ideal for design work and full opaque coverage at mid-range temperatures.
Cone 10: No change.
Cone 06 oxidation (first image): Blue Grass is a heavily pigmented, viscous Stroke & Coat®glaze that can be used for brush strokes or opaque coverage. One coat will create a translucent finish with subsequent coats adding opacity. We suggest two to three coats for full opacity and all over coverage. Will fire to a gloss finish without clear glaze.
Cone 6 oxidation (second image): Semi-Transparent. Streaky. Color slightly moves.
Cone 10 Reduction (third image)
Cone 6: Blue Hydrangea is a blue floral inspired glaze that contains yellow and white crystals. As the crystals melt, large white blooms and smaller yellow blooms appear in the glaze.
Cone 10: Color changes to blue. Crystals fade slightly. TIP: SW-207 Chambray is the base glaze. For a lighter crystal effect, you may try applying two coats of SW-207 Chambray with a third coat of SW-170 Blue Hydrangea.

Cone 10 Reduction (third image)
A soft blue that can sometimes be yellowish-brown when thin. Perfect for nearly any non-functional ware, this glaze absorbs light in a striking way and feels warm and dry to the touch.
Single dip (2-3 coats brushed) Fairly stable, light blue where thick, yellowish brown where thin. Not recommended for food use, may change color or texture. A matt surface.
Blue Moon is one of the Texas Two Step Overcoats, meaning it can be layered with Licorice, Coffee Bean, or Brick Red to produce an oilspot effect. It is also a beautiful soft blue on its own, making it suited to decorative and functional ware.
Cone 6: Blue Opal is a medium blue semi-transparent to fully opaque gloss glaze. Thinner applications create a transparent blue haze; thicker coatings produce an opaque finish. Surface textures can cause the glaze to collect and produce streaks of greyish blue. Cone 10: Becomes more transparent. Can produce red mottling in a heavy reduction. TIP: Light applications on brown and buff bodies will produce a transparent green-blue gloss finish. Thinner application will provide a glossy transparent finish. Thicker application will provide light blue floating. Surface decoration will be visible under the glaze, but if you apply the glaze thick, it could blur your image.

Dark blue where thick, reddish-brown where thinner. A rich glaze that looks great over texture or combined with other glazes. Contrasts great with bright colors like Buttercup.
Single dip (2-3 coats brushed) Fairly stable, medium blue where thick, breaks to black/brown over texture and where thin. A glossy surface.
Cone 6: Blue Splatterware is a white, semi-matte glaze that contains a blue crystal. As the crystal melts it creates small blue blooms that cause the glaze to resemble the look of 19th century enamelware.
Cone 10: Crystals become less defined. TIP: SW-141 White Matte is the base glaze. For a lighter crystal effect, you may try applying two coats of SW-141 White Matte with a third coat of SW-152 Blue Splatterware.
Cone 6: Blue Surf is a variegated cobalt blue glazes that breaks green.
Cone 10: Color darkens.
TIP: The thinner the application the the more green the glaze will appear. The thicker the more blue it will be. Where the glaze breaks it will be green.

Cone 6 oxidation (second image): Opaque. Color Changes to SC-53 Purple Haze.
Cone 10 reduction (third image)
A deep, solid red. Great on its own as a base or accent color, the Brick Red is a Texas Two-Step undercoat, and will create oilspot effects when covered with one of the overcoats.
Cone 6 oxidation (larger image): Brick Red Engobe fires matte red/brown. Engobes are used to coat your clay body to your preferred finish/color and are a great base to achieve v in your glaze results. Cone 10 reduction (smaller image): No change. Tips: Can be applied to wet clay, greenware or soft fired, cone 04 bisque. Engobes are often used for a variety of decorative techniques, such as sgraffito and majolica. Fires matte. Apply clear glaze to intensify color or for use on dinnerware. Engobes will impact glaze results when used as a base. Engobes are used to change the color of your clay color surface without cross contamination and easy clean up in your studio. Can be used in oxidation or reduction firings. Results may vary. The choice of clay body, thickness of application, firing process, and temperature will greatly affect the fired results. Always test your application on your clay body in your kiln environment.
Cone 6: Bright Blue Gloss is a highly-pigmented sky blue gloss glaze. The stable qualities of this glaze make it ideal for design work and full opaque coverage at mid-range temperatures.
Cone 10: Color darkens.
Cone 6: Bright Green Gloss is a highly-pigmented chartreuse gloss glaze. The stable qualities of this glaze make it ideal for design work and full opaque coverage at mid-range temperatures.
Cone 10: Color lightens; changes to light blue in heavy reduction.
A dramatic glaze that emulates the look of a gas-fired temmoku when used on a red clay, but produces a beautiful shimmering bronze on white clays. Also looks great combined with the gloss or satin glazes.
Single dip (2-3 coats brushed) Stable, combines well with other glazes, especially the satins. Metallic bronze, breaking to black where thinner. Becomes much darker when there is more iron in the clay body.

Cone 10 Reduction (third image)
Cone 6: Brown Gloss is a glossy, opaque, rich brown glaze that is highly pigmented and formulated for stable design work at midrange temperatures and above.
Cone 10: Color shifts to olive-brown. The glaze remains stable.
TIP: This glaze is stable, even with heavy application. Can be mixed with other Stoneware Gloss glazes (SW-500 series) to produce additional stable and opaque colors. Layer design work with other Stoneware Gloss series colors to create crisp images that won’t blur or require a clear glaze.

A bright, cheerful yellow. Perfect as an accent color, or as a contrasting layer to dark colors like Blue Shino or Espresso Bean.
Single dip (2-3 coats brushed) Very stable, no running, no breaking. A glossy surface. Contains cadmium inclusion stain, food safe in our testing.
A neutral tone that breaks to dark brown over texture, and produces a marvellous furred pattern over Gloss glazes. A great glaze for adding warmth to textured pieces.
Single dip (2-3 coats brushed) Stable, no running, breaks brown to orange over texture and where thin. Nice over texture, slips, underglazes and other glazes. Contains cadmium inclusion stain, food safe in our testing. A glossy surface.
