Patterned from the Japanese egote, this tool aids shaping and compressing deep, narrow necked wheel thrown pieces. Made in two sizes of fine hardwood that is polished to a satin finish, these "comfortably fitting" throwing sticks are 12-1/2" in length. TS1 = larger throwing stick. TS2 = smaller throwing stick

This tool has heavier handles and thicker, 36" long wire for cutting and trimming large bodies of clay. Comes in a heat sealed polybag. The more common cut-off wire is the K-35 cut-off wire.
The Steve Tool is a texture application tool. It is a re-invention of the wheel designed specifically for clay. It doesn’t clog easy so you get lots of raw texture! Use the tool to apply texture to thrown or hand built work. View/download a 7 page how-to guide with step-by-step photos It works for hand building or sculpting as well as thrown pieces. One tool can be configured many ways for many different texture results. You receive in the same tool kit BOTH the gear style and spoke style texture disks. To use The Steve Tool, throw a cylinder. Scrape the side clean with a rib. Roll the texture wheels around the spinning cylinder & move slowly up the cylinder (or fast, your choice). For slab work (or breads) flatten out the material and roll on texture. After texture is applied, form the shape from only the inside of the cylinder. You’ll see how the texture becomes “part of the pottery” & not simply “applied texture” which is how texture looks when applied to a finished pot. You’ll see patterns mimic nature. The patterns add to the tactile feel of your pottery. Stretch the pottery until the walls get very thin & you’ll feel the texture come through to the inside of the pottery. You’ll be inspired to try other effects from texture work. Try filling in the texture with contrasting clay, then trim smooth at the leather hard stage. Try texture on thick or thin wall cylinders. The Steve Tool readily pays for itself in the first pot sold! Textured surfaces can add another layer of interest to your shapes and also control runny glazes. You'll be capable of producing hundreds of surface affects on wheel thrown pottery or hand built claywork! No more stealing toys from the kitchen! The same Steve Tool can be configured into many variant designs by rearranging the disks over the shaft in assorted patterns. RH-1 roller handle make the rollers easy to use. The RH-1 assists the roller to create clear and distinct designs exactly where you want them. To use these roller handles, simply pull apart the head of the handle so the metal bar becomes detached from one side. Then slide a roller on and close the head of the handle again. When using a roller with the RH-1 roller handle, the head of the handle will stay closed and secure around your roller. Roll across clay to create straight lines, curvy lines, and so much more! The RH-1 roller handle is designed to fit the RL, RM, and RS rollers. One roller handle can be used with all the different RL, Rm, and RS rollers. HOW TO CLEAN: RH-1 roller handles are made from hard wood. To clean the roller handle, simply use a little bit of water and a cloth to wash off any excess clay that might get on the roller.

Natural sponges have been used for years. However, the quality of natural sponges can be unpredictable and there is the issue of environmental pressure on the little guys. Sherrill sponges are made of an environmentally friendly material that is incredibly durable and compressed for economy of space and for the fun of watching them expand when introduced to water. The Mudsponge Blue Workhorse is a great all-purpose pop-up sponge made of an open cell material that is very absorbent. They've shaped it like a potters rib to fit comfortably in the palm of your hand. Dyed with a natural pigment, the color will fade with use. The Mudsponge Orange Most Absorbent pop up sponge is the perfect throwing sponge. More absorbent than the Mudsponge White Finishing and the Mudsponge Blue Workhorse, it is the sponge Michael uses for throwing. The Mudsponge White Finishing is pop up sponge made with a tight-cell material and is less absorbent than the Mudsponge Blue Workhorse. It is excellent for finishing work, final detail and clean-up of surfaces and won’t pull out grog or other materials in the clay body. Think of it like a chamois sponge.
