The HydroBat Adapter allows the use of 6", 8" and 10" bats on larger wheel heads that are not drilled to accept smaller size bats with holes 6" apart on center.
Contains center hole and a slot machined exactly to hold the Z-Brace or Bead Brace. Intended for user-made hollow dies & all beads The 4" extruder dies are made of 1/2" HDPE (High Density polyethylene). Which is extremely wear-resistant and completely non-contaminating. The top edge of the die cavity is beveled to compact the clay as it passes through, giving a crisp, more solid extrusion. In the hollow dies, there is a bevel on both the interior and exterior portions under each side of the bracket (which holds the center of the hollow dies) that helps the extrusion to "heal" after is has been cut apart by the bracket. This bracket fits into a slot machined into the top of the hollow die and is held in place by the barrel of the extruder. If a hollow die is mounted in place, the center part of the die is in exactly the right place and the wall thickness will automatically be even all the way around. In general, the walls of extrusions 3-1/2 inches OD or less are 1/4 inch thick, while larger pieces have 5/16 inch walls. We have a selection of stock 4” dies available & custom dies are quickly made and inexpensive.

The new Dirty Girls Round Bat Insert System is the best! It comes with one master bat made of an exterior grade wood material that is highly water-resistant and durable and 10 ROUND inserts that are a full 7.5" in diameter. You can throw any pot with a base 7.5" or smaller. The original Dirty Girl herself, Link Henderson throws 90% of her pots on this system. It saves tons of shelf space! The inserts are 30% larger than competitors!
There is an shallow cutout under the insert tab for placing a wooden tool to pry up the bats. There are also cutouts across from each bat pin hole on the underside of the master bat so you can easily lift the master bat off the wheel! Extra Inserts are sold in sets of 12. Do not leave submerged in water. Any wood based product left submerged in water will degrade and warp, so be nice to your bat system and gently clean the components and set them out to dry either on their sides or at a diagonal, just not stacked. If left stacked when fully wet, the inserts will swell in the center. They will dry out flat again, but it will take time!

Our Flexi-bats give a finished foot and a stamped impression on the pots bottom with no added effort or time! Because the bats create the pattern and the foot while you work, you spend zero to very minimal time trimming. The bats also help potters stay constant with the size of their foot. The foot on these bats are deep enough that the potter can still glaze the bottoms. Our Flexi-bats do not have the loud wobbling and shuffling noise that other bats have. Made from a foam material, they are absorbent and stretch around the wing nuts of your wheel and last for a generous amount of uses. The diameter of the foot is just shy of 3 and 1/3 inches, leaving room for your work to shrink and still have a good solid base size for a mug or smaller bowl. The square shape of the bat helps with optimal storage for your work. The inspiration for these bats came about when potter Chelsi Hanley was struggling to have the intricacy in her work that she desired, but didn't have the time or the ability to come back to the studio days later to trim and decorate. She was also looking for ways to add clean cut imagery to her work and utilize time she had outside the studio doing graphics work.
