USG Plasters

September 14 Update:  We have set up an account with Arcosa Specialty Materials and placed our first order with them for Pottery plaster and a product similar to Hydrocal White.  Our first truckload from them is due to arrive in October.  We will be setting up the products here on our website for preorder.  We are opening up the pre-sale opportunity to existing AND NEW customers (limit of 1000# to new customers for first order).  When the preorder is ready, we will update this page to include product links (we will also link from the existing USG Plaster items)  

Historical information: 

United States Gypsum, North America's largest manufacturer of plaster, announced the closure of their Southard, OK plant.  This plant is the source of all of their Industrial products, which is everything from USG #1 Pottery Plaster, to Hydrocal products, and more.  Ceramics is not the only industry to suffer.  This also includes dental plasters, agricultural plasters, and even some products used for medical research.  

At the current time, we are instituting our typical "anti-hoarding rules" on all of our plaster products.  We have decent stock levels right now to serve the standard needs of all of our current customers.  We are not selling plaster to any new customers or to current customers in significant excess over their typical purchases.  We have one final shipment from USG scheduled to arrive in September.  In the meantime, we are looking into several alternative sources.
