Alberta Slip Substitute is the 1:1 alternative to Albany Clay. Albany Clay was mined in the region of Albany, New York and could be used as a glaze on it's own, creating yellow, blacks, and browns in cone 10 reduction. Alberta Slip Substitute is more plastic than Albany, causing shrinking and cracking while drying and crazing when fired.
