In addition to the Manufacturer's Furniture Kit options, you also have the choice of our custom Bracker's furniture kits. For more information and a comparison of kits, click here.

    • Maintenance Kit

Designed to be the kiln equivalent of a home First Aid Kit - they contain just enough of the most important parts of your kiln to ensure no break down has to mean lost firings.

    • Power Cord Head (50amp)

This is a NEMA 6-50 Power Cord Head that can be used for most 10 sided SINGLE PHASE kilns and smaller, and may not be installed on a kiln that draws more than 48 amps.

Features & Benefits of Cone Art Kilns

    Controller OptionsController Options

The Bartlett Genesis touchscreen controller is the next generation of kiln controllers. It has a modern, intuitive user platform, and touch screen display. The Genesis has different user-interface levels to match the firing knowledge of the user, and a graphical display of the firing’s progress. It is capable of storing up to 12 custom programs with up to 32 segments each, or you can simply fire by cone number and speed. This unit is Wifi enabled. Soon users will be able to register their units with the manufacturer’s website. This will allow you to download software updates to your laptop, and in turn upload those updates to the controller itself. Dimensions and wiring of this unit are identical to the previous V6-CF model, so people can upgrade to the Genesis from previous models with little effort. Those kiln model numbers with a Bartlett Genesis controller installed are prefixed with a “GX”. For example GX 1822D.

The Bartlett V6-CF digital keypad controller offers precise control and many features not available with other controllers. It comes with preset firing profiles, allowing you to fire by simply entering a cone number, as well as the option of user-defined programs. It will hold up to 6 user-defined programs with up to 8 segments in each program. Or as an option you can combine 2 programs to make one complicated program with up to 16 segments in it. The Bartlett controller has one thermocouple for each circuit in the kiln so it is excellent at ensuring even temperature from top to bottom. We still recommend the use of witness cones with all controllers. Those kiln model numbers with a Bartlett V6-CF controller installed are prefixed with a “BX”. For example BX 1822D.

But what about the firing performance, you ask? Cone Art Kilns have been designed to withstand the high demands of the production potter or school. In addition to high efficiency insulation, Cone Art only uses thick-gauge, high quality Kanthal A1 element wire in their kilns. This makes firing to cone 10 a breeze even with high mass loads. The elements are spaced in the kiln in such a way to take advantage of the natural heat-flow within a kiln, with wide element channels to keep the elements from overheating. Floor elements help keep the firings even from the center of the kiln to the outside wall, while the standard multi-zone Bartlett controller helps keep the kiln firing even from bottom-to-top.

    Patented Lid-LifterPatented Lid-Lifter

Cone Art Kilns are an exceptional choice for pottery artists, professionals, and enthusiasts. Let’s explore these features in detail to better understand how they work together to provide superior performance.

One of the first things you’ll notice when opening the Cone Art kiln is how light the lid feels, and this is thanks to the kiln’s patented lid lifter design. The lid is equipped with hinges and springs on both sides, which significantly reduce the weight of the lid and make it much easier to lift. One of the first things that drew us to Cone Art kilns is the innovative lid hinge design. Most top-loading kilns use a standard hinge, which means that if you have a 23″ diameter lid on a 3 section kiln, you have to reach all the way up to 5′ 2″ above the floor to open or close the lid. This is quite a challenge for many of the school teachers and potters that I have run into. Additionally, once open, the entire weight of the lid is typically held by the hinge pin and plate only. This can become an unstable and wobbly lid as a kiln ages. Cone Art’s innovative lid hinge design not only makes opening the lid easy, but also supports the weight of the open lid with the full kiln body; yet still opens enough to load 21″ platters, or wide and tall sculptures.

    Double-Walled DesignDouble-Walled Design

Another standout feature of Cone Art kilns is their wall insulation, which combines traditional 2.5-inch fire brick with an additional 1-inch layer of rigid fiber insulation. This dual-layer insulation reduces heat loss by an impressive 32% compared to kilns that use only fire brick. With less heat escaping, the kiln requires less fuel to reach and maintain temperature, which not only results in significant energy savings but also means that the kiln operates more efficiently. The kiln reaches firing temperatures faster, reducing overall operating costs and improving productivity. In addition, the reduced heat loss means that your electrical components won’t have to work as hard to maintain the desired temperature, further extending the lifespan of the kiln’s elements. The increased insulation also helps keep the exterior of the kiln cooler, making it safer to operate and creating a more comfortable environment in the kiln room. On top of this, Cone Art kilns have all stainless steel jacket and fittings.

Speaking of 21″ platters, Cone Art’s double-walled kiln design not only allows for a significantly more efficient kiln, but does so without the loss of stackable space that we usually see with 3″ firebrick kilns. Yep, that means no more pinching your fingers to get that 21″ full shelf in the kiln…and the kiln’s stackable space is about 10% greater (on a 23″ diameter, 27″ deep kiln)

    Multi-Zone ControlMulti-Zone Control

In addition to the floor heating coil, Cone Art kilns feature multiple thermocouples placed approximately every 9 inches throughout the kiln. These thermocouples are part of the kiln’s Multi-Zone Control system, which continuously measures temperature at different points inside the kiln. This advanced system allows the temperature controller to make precise adjustments to ensure even heat distribution across the entire firing chamber. By monitoring different zones of the kiln separately, the Three-Zone Control system minimizes temperature fluctuations and helps the kiln maintain consistent heat from top to bottom. This results in a more reliable and uniform firing process, improving the quality of your pottery and ensuring consistent outcomes, whether you’re firing at lower temperatures or pushing the kiln to its maximum Cone 10 capacity.

    Heated Floor ElementsHeated Floor Elements

Once the kiln is open, you’ll notice something distinctive about the heating system—it includes a heating coil in the floor, a feature that sets Cone Art kilns apart from other brands. This innovation is important because heat naturally rises, which can cause temperature imbalances inside the kiln. By placing a heating element in the floor, Cone Art addresses this issue and ensures more even heat distribution. This helps the kiln’s temperature controller maintain consistent heat from top to bottom, making the firing process more reliable and ensuring uniform results across all your pottery pieces.

True Cone 10 KilnTrue Cone 10 Kiln

One of the other things you may notice is that Cone Art kilns draw more amps than other kiln manufacturer’s standard kiln models at the same size.

This is because Cone Art’s standard kiln models actually are comparable to other kiln manufacturer’s Heavy Duty or Production (PK) models. This means that while the Cone Art Kiln can deliver true cone 10 firings, it can also tackle low-fire and Cone 6 without any trouble at all…and do it up to 32% more efficiently than brick-only kilns. Cone Art kilns are designed to deliver consistent results while reducing energy consumption and extending the life of the kiln.

Together, these features make Cone Art kilns a standout in the ceramics industry, these kilns truly embody the qualities of a high-performance, long-lasting True Cone-10 kilns.
