Dark Star is based off the Ice Man clay body! It is recommended to use slow firing speeds for Bisque and Glaze firing. Can Bloat past cone 6! Can still be fired to a true cone 6.
Reformulations took place in 2023, Ky mudworks noted that for best results in Cone 6, a slower ramp in the final 300F may help offset bloating or adjusting your firing so that it peaks about half a cone cooler than past use.

It can be very expensive to ship just a couple of boxes of clay. UPS and FedEx charge a LOT for a 50# box of clay. It's almost always more than the cost of the clay, and can be more $50 per box. The cost per pound of clay goes down when you ship 500# or more via a freight company. If you can order with a friend or several friends (or art teacher where schools are concerned) you can both save quite a bit of money.
