Texture Spheres are unique tools cast by hand in the USA. The sphere shape gives you the ability to control the uniqueness of your design. They can be used as a stamp or rolled in stripe or spiral patterns to create a different look every time you use them. Texture spheres are incredibly easy to use and great for kids and students. They are made of the highest-strength plaster available, do not stick to clay, and are extremely durable. 

Roll across surface of clay to imprint pattern. Use as a stamp holding at different angles or roll by hand straight or in circles.
The round shape gives you freedom to create your own unique look.
Although the pattern is exact, the actual color of sphere may vary. 

OLANDER EARTHWORKS originally designed these sensory spheres for relaxation and play therapy.  We have used many of the photos of the decorated spheres shown in sand because the contrast shows the textures better.  Spheres produced for the ceramic industry are the same strong hydrostone plaster, but are NOT contrast colored. 

Nonetheless, you can use your sphere in clay to texture your work, and you can roll it across silica sand for a zen studio moment of calm as you see here:
